Mooli (Radish) Koshimbir (Raita)

Radishes on their own may not enjoy much popularity, but this quick and tasty Mooli (Radish) Koshimbir (Raita) is sure to hit the right spot even with Radish haters. Fresh, grated radish is tempered with a few spices and then topped with additive free & refreshingly healthy Sarda Farms dahi, to make this flavoursome side dish/salad.




  • cup peeled and grated radish ‏1
  • cup Sarda Farms dahi, drained (or as required) ‏½
  • 2 ‏tablespoons groundnut powder
  • 2-3 ‏red chillies, broken (or green chillies)
  • 2 ‏teaspoons oil
  • ¾ ‏teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ½ ‏teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ¼ ‏teaspoon hing (asafoetida)
  • ‏Salt to taste

Place the radish in a mixing bowl.
Add groundnut powder and mix.
In a small pan heat the oil.
Add the mustard seeds and once they splutter add the cumin seeds.
Add red chillies and hing.
Take it off the heat and pour the tempering over the grated radish.
Add salt and dahi and mix.
Serve immediately or chilled.

Note: Add ½ teaspoon sugar if the radish is too peppery.
