Makki Raab

Makki Raab is the perfect dish if you are looking for a hassle free, quick and healthy breakfast. Corn daliya (coarse corn meal) is cooked with a couple of spices and additive free dahi from Sarda Farms to make this scrumptious traditional dish.



  • ¾ ‏cup Corn Daliya (coarse corn meal)
  • ½ ‏cup Sarda Farms dahi
  • ½ ‏teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ¾ ‏teaspoon grated ginger
  • ‏Salt to taste



Bring about 3 ½ cups of water to a boil in a pan.

Add cumin, ginger and salt.

Gradually add corn daliya, stirring constantly so that lumps do not form.

Cook covered till the corn meal becomes soft. Stir few times so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.

Whisk dahi with ½ cup water and add to the cooked cornmeal.

Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes more. Adjust quantity of water if required.

Serve immediately.


You can sprinkle some crushed black pepper over the Raab if you like.

For a variation you can top makki raab with some spices like hing (asafoetida),curry leaves or garlic tempered in Sarda Farms ghee. You can also add some fresh herbs.

The quantity of water will depend on the quality of cornmeal and the desired consistency. This recipe yields a porridge like consistency. Add more water if you want to make it like a drink.
