Mac n Cheese
A warm bowl Macaroni and Cheese makes for a quick comforting family dinner. Macaroni is dressed in a creamy sauce made using Sarda Farms milk, decked with vegetables and then topped with cheese to make a vegetarian version of the all-time classic dish.
The white sauce can be made in advance & vegetables can be blanched ahead, to cut down on the preparation time.
- 2 cups Macaroni
- 2 ½ -3 cups White sauce made with Sarda Farms milk
- 1 cup vegetables of choice, blanched (peas,beans,carrots,cauliflower etc)
- 1-2 tablespoon butter
- ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
- ¼ cup grated cheddar cheese (or as required)
Cook the Macaroni according to package instructions. Drain in a colander and rinse under cold water.
Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C.
Grease a 9 inch baking dish with butter.
Mix the white sauce & vegetables with the Macaroni.
Sprinkle pepper powder and spread this in the baking dish.
Top with cheese.
Bake for about 20 minutes till the cheese melts and the top just starts turning brown. (Time may change depending on the oven efficiency)
