Golden Milk

Much has been said about the benefits of drinking Golden Milk or ‘Turmeric Latte’. Long before the world caught up on this fad, Ayurveda and our grandmothers have advocated this simple ‘Haldi doodh’ (turmeric milk) as a home remedy to relieve sore throat, cold and cough, pains etc. Make a cup of this magical potion made with additive free, fresh Sarda Farms milk to unwind and relax after a long day.

Ingredients

  • 1 ‏cup Sarda Farms milk
  • ½ -3/4 ‏teaspoon Turmeric (haldi) powder
  • ‏Pinch of crushed black pepper
  • ‏Pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 1 ‏teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1-2 ‏teaspoons honey as required
  • ‏Holy basil (Tulsi) leaves for garnish (optional)

Method

Place milk with about ¼ cup water in a saucepan.

Add turmeric powder, pepper, cinnamon and ginger.

Boil and simmer on low flame for about 7-8 minutes. Stir and take care that the milk does not spill over.

Pour the golden milk in a serving cup/glass and add honey.

Stir and serve immediately, garnished with basil leaves (if using)

Note

If you can find fresh turmeric root, grate and use a piece of that to make golden milk instead of turmeric powder. Use more water and simmer for a longer time if using fresh turmeric root.
