Ghee roasted podi Idli

Left over Idlis get a spicy makeover to make these lip-smacking Ghee roasted podi Idlis. Day old idlis are tossed in flavourful Sarda Farms ghee along with some spices to make this delectable snack.

Serve the spicy idly for breakfast or as an afterschool snack.



  • 9-10 ‏leftover idlis, cut into nite sized pieces
  • 2-3 tablespoons ‏Sarda Farms ghee
  • 1 ‏onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ‏cumin seeds
  • 12-15 ‏curry leaves
  • 2-3 tablespoons ‏Idli podi (dry chutney powder) or you can alternatively use sambar masala as required
  • ‏Salt if required.


Heat ghee in a non-stick pan.

Add the cumin seeds and once they sizzle add the onion and curry leaves.

Saute for a few seconds till the onion turns pink.

Add the idli pieces and toss to mix everything.

Stir fry for a minute and then sprinkle the idli podi. Mix

Serve hot.
