Simple, tasty and nutritious, these Bottle Gourd fries tick all the right boxes for a snack or a side dish. Flour coated, spiced Bottle gourd slices are pan fried in Sarda Farms ghee to make these addictive fries. You can make similar fries with eggplants or potatoes.

  • 1 ‏medium sized bottled gourd, peeled and sliced
  • 4-5 tablespoons ‏Sarda Farms ghee (or as required)
  • 1-2 teaspoon ‏red chilli powder
  • ½- ¾ cup ‏rice flour
  • ‏Salt to taste

Rub some salt and half of the red chilli powder on the bottle gourd slices and keep aside for 5 minutes.

Add the remaining chilli powder and some salt to the rice flour, mix and spread it on a flat plate.

Discard excess water from the bottle gourd slices and dip each slice in the rice flour on both sides to coat.

Heat about 1- 1 ½ tablespoon ghee in a non-stick pan on medium flame.

Place about 5-6 slices in the pan (depending on the pan size) and fry on both sides till they are golden brown and crisp.

Repeat with the remaining slices.

Serve hot as a snack or side dish with rice.
