Egg Halwa is a simple, delectable dessert even though it may sound a bit weird at first. Eggs and wholesome Sarda Farms milk are cooked together with sugar, flavoured with saffron and cinnamon (or cardamom) to make this sinful, rich sweet. Addition of dry fruit and nuts fried in earthy Sarda Farms ghee, enhances the taste and texture of this dish.
- 3 eggs, whisked
- 3 ½ - 4 cups Sarda Farms milk
- 2 tablespoons Sarda Farms ghee
- ½ -3/4 cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder (or cardamom powder)
- ¼ cup dry fruit and nuts of choice
Heat the milk in a pan on low-medium flame.
Simmer and reduce the milk to ½ the quantity.
Heat ghee in another pan on low flame.
Add the dry fruit and nuts and fry till they turn light golden brown.
Take out some of the dry fruit and nuts for garnish.
Add the eggs.
Stir and cook on low flame till they just begin to scramble
Add the evaporated milk,sugar,cinnamon and saffron.
Cook on low flame till all the moisture from the mixture evaporates (about 10-12 minutes). Stir to avoid the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Serve hot garnished with the reserved nuts and dry fruits.
