Chickpea (Chole) dahi dip
If you are looking for a quick, protein packed dip Chickpea (Chole) dahi dip fits the bill. Fresh Sarda Farms dahi enhances the texture, taste and nutrition value of this lip smacking dip. Chickpea (Chole) dahi dip can be served with crudités, pita bread/chips or can be used as a spread for rotis or bread.
- 1 cup chickpeas (chole), cooked
- 4-5 tablespoons Sarda Farms dahi, drained completely (hung curd) and whisked
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- Few fresh mint or coriander leaves chopped
- ½ teaspoon lime juice
- Salt to taste
Keep 4-5 chickpeas aside for garnish. Blend together remaining chickpeas, 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil, salt and garlic in a mixer till it forms a paste. Use 1-2 tablespoons water (left over from cooking the chickpeas) if it is too thick.
In a mixing bowl, mix the chickpea paste with dahi,cumin powder, some chilli powder,salt and lime juice.
Place in a serving bowl.
Drizzle some olive oil and red chilli powder over the dip
Serve garnished with mint/coriander leaves and chickpeas.
To cook chickpeas soak them overnight in water. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and on SIM for 15 minutes till they are soft.
You can add about 2 tablespoons of tahini paste to the chickpeas while blending.
