Caramelised onion dahi dip
This quick and flavourful Caramelised onion-dahi dip is the perfect appetiser for parties and get together. The sweetness of the caramelised onions compliments the tangy, creamy, additive free Sarda Farms dahi. Caramelised onion dahi dip can be served with crackers, chips, crudites etc.
- 2-3 onions peeled and sliced
- ½ cup Sarda Farms dahi, drained
- 2-3 garlic cloves, sliced
- 1 -1 ½ tablespoon olive oil
- ¾ teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon crushed black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (thyme,mint etc)
Heat oil in a non-stick pan on low flame.
Add garlic, onion and saute
Stir and saute till the onions are caramelised and turn completely brown.
Take pan off heat and cool.
Reserve some of the caramelised onions for garnish.
Blend the remaining onions with dahi, pepper and salt in a mixer.
Place the mixture in a serving bowl.
Sprinkle cumin powder over it.
Serve garnished with the caramelised onions and herbs.
You can also chill the dip before serving for about 30 minutes.
