Buttermilk Waffles

Easy and simple waffle recipe that will help you make nice crisp on the outside and soft in the middle waffles. Whisking the ingredients together in a blender makes the process even simpler. You need either a waffle mould or a waffle iron to make theses waffles. Sarda Farms dahi not only makes them tasty but also aids to make them light and crisp. Sarda Farms ghee makes them rich and flavourful. Buttermilk waffles taste amazing on their own but you can top them with jam/fruit/honey/maple syrup or even a scoop of ice cream.



  • 1 ¼ ‏cup Maida (all purpose flour)
  • ¾ ‏cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 ‏tablespoons rice flour (optional)
  • 2-3 ‏tablespoons Sarda Farms ghee, melted
  • ¾ ‏cup Sarda farms dahi
  • 1 ‏teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ‏teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 ‏eggs, whisked
  • 2-3 ‏tablespoons unrefined sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 ‏teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ‏Chopped fruits, jam or honey for topping


Whisk dahi with about 1- 1 ¼ cup water.

Place it in the jar of a blender along with flours, ghee, eggs, vanilla, sugar, baking powder & baking soda.

Blend to make a smooth batter

You can make the waffles in a waffle maker. Cook them according to the manufacturer’s instruction.

To make them in the oven;

Pre-heat oven to 200 degree Celsius.

Lightly grease silicone waffle mould with ghee.

Place them on a baking sheet.

Pour batter in the mould about 1-1 ½ ladle

Bake for 12-15 minutes till the waffles firm up and start turning light brown.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Unmould the waffles on the lined baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes more till the waffles crisp up.

Repeat with the rest of the batter.

Serve topped with fruits or jam or honey, maple syrup or a scoop of ice cream
