Pure, wholesome Sarda Farms milk & sugar work their magic to make this traditional sweet- Basundi. Simple & uncomplicated, all you require to make this recipe is some patience. Sweet thickened milk is spiked with a subtle flavour of nutmeg & saffron, you can also add cardamom. Basundi can be served hot of chilled.
- 1 litre Sarda Farms milk
- 1/3 Cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon Chironji/Charoli (or any other nut of choice)
- Pinch of saffron strands
- 1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg powder
Heat the milk & sugar in a wide pan (preferably non-stick)
Simmer on low-medium heat till it reduces almost to half its volume. Stir frequently to avoid burning at the base and also take care that it does not over flow.
Add saffron & nutmeg and simmer for a couple of minutes more.
Take it off the heat and serve hot or cold garnished with Chironji or any other nuts.
